A cage of fear.
Fear to speak,
For my words could be twisted.
Fear to hear,
For I might misunderstand.
Fear to see,
For my eyes may deceive me.
Fear to reach out,
For I could be pulled anywhere.
Fear to hope,
For my hopes could fall.
Fear to dream,
For they may transform to nightmares.
Fear to be,
For I could be unworthy.
Now, I am free,
Free of the fear,
Of condemnation.
Free to speak,
For my words deserve a chance.
Free to hear,
For sweet music can whisper in the midst of chaos.
Free to see,
For I will learn to appreciate.
Free to reach out,
For my touch could help another.
Free to hope,
For I can be sure with faith.
Free to dream,
For the Heavens are within my grasp.
Free to be,
For Christ’s love makes me worthy.
