Kids bored?
_If you have older kids who enjoy art, check out some free printable "advanced" coloring pages.Doodle Art Alley has my favorite ones; I admit I love to color them! This site is called Color Pages for Mom,
but there are a variety of categories of advanced coloring pages that
would be suitable for older children or teens as well. Another way to
find specific coloring pages is to simply do an Image Search on Google.
Making your own Custom Colored Play Dough is an inexpensive way to keep your kiddos & their imgainations busy, and play dough is useful as a manipulative for learning letters/numbers/shapes/color mixing, etc.
If it is near the holiday season, be sure to check out these fun ways to make holidays meaningful [without boring your kids to death].

Take on a Project
_Here
is a website that allows you to download free .pdf files that show you
how to make hand puppets- the big ones with moveable mouths that are
used for puppet shows. If your church doesn't already have puppets, please share this with them!! Often budgets do not allow for the purchasing of puppets, but this is very inexpensive and requires only basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine and hot glue gun. Pair this up with a few PVC pipes and some cloth to make a puppet stage, or just some large boxes to hide behind, and you've got the beginning of hours of fun and learning opportunities as well!
Knitter? Check it out:
Knitting Pattern Central has a ton of free knitting (and crocheting) patterns. And by a ton, I mean literally at least 1,000.
One thing I haven't been able to find easily, however, is Barbie clothes knitting patterns that use worsted weight or DK weight yarn. They all seem to use fingering/sport/baby yarn because the delicate stitches aren't as "chunky" in appearance on such a petite doll. Trouble is, all my "scraps" of yarn are DK or WW and I don't want to purchase more. I just want to knit a few basics for my niece as a gift. So, I am converting knitting patterns to use with the yarn I already have, and I will post them on my blog as I develop them, as well as adding them to the list below:
