If you read my poetry, you are likely to find some stark contrasts in topic and tone. That's because these poems are ones that I've written from the age of 12 into adulthood, and like any person, I change. I change from moment to moment, so naturally when collecting writings from over a decade there will inevitably be variety!
I have so many poems that I am making an effort to divide them into category based on subject matter. You will find, however, that there is a wide variety of reading in each category. I have also included the age I was when I originally wrote the poem at the end of some of the poems- no particular reason, I had just jotted down my age when writing them & decided to include it here as well.

Although you may have seen that I'm a Christian, I want you to know that my poems are not all joy and Jesus. I began writing poetry at the age of 12 and saved almost every poem I've ever written. Most of them are included here. I've battled depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicidal tendencies, self-harm, and have lived through an abusive relationship and initiated that divorce. My life hasn't been peaches, rose petals and church hymnals. So, if you run across some raw emotions, please be aware that this was the outpouring of my soul in a particular moment at a particular time and be respectful when commenting. I put some of the less "nice" poetry on here not to promote self-pity, jealousy or rage (all things I've experienced- I am human) but so perhaps my vulnerability can be a voice or a companionship to someone else who is in that season of their life right now and feels alone. I want them to know there is hope and life can change. I'm living proof!
