We officially started homeschooling the day after Labor Day... Oy. My 5 year old is very excited to learn, but, he's 5, so he wants to quit when we're in the middle of something and he begs and demands to "do more school" when I'm nursing the 2 month old or trying to catch a minute sitting in a chair because the almost 3 year old has just been wrangled (literally) through his naptime routine. I can already identify some areas we will need to work on. For instance, my son is a very high acheiver and sets standards for himself higher than I've set standards for him. He gets very upset with himself if he's trying to write a letter of the alphabet and he "messes up" so it doesn't look quite (or quite neatly enough) like it should. I'm my own worst critic as well so I know how difficult it can be to go through life not giving yourself any slack. I want to find a way to help him at a young age to learn to be patient with himself, forgive himself, and when applicable, even laugh at himself. A lesson we can hope to learn together.

I am not much of a blog reader. There's only a couple I check on occasion:
Love this girl's writing... feels like she's a long distance friend. Well, her sister is my long-distance friend, so that probably helps. Either way, what an inspiration and encouragement- you just need to check out some of the places life has taken Leah and be strengthened and inspired by the love that oozes (yes, oooozes) from her heart for Jesus, His people and His creation!
If you like nummy recipes, or have special dietary needs (or both!) check it out. ALL of her recipes are Vegan, and many can be made gluten-free. I stumbled upon it when searching for dairy/egg free treats to make for my kiddo and have gotten hooked on several recipes. Okay, "hooked on" doesn't portray it well enough. How about "addicted to"? That's more fitting. Will definitely be going back for more!
