In the night,
In the quiet
Turn on a light.
Stare at the walls
Breaths slow and deep,
A lonesome sadness overwhelms me
As I begin to weep.
No particular reason
No inspiring recent event,
Yet this grief
Will not relent.
Confused and alone
I picture your face;
I miss you so dearly,
I need God’s Grace.
Mourning lost loved ones
Is a difficult thing to do;
As I slip back into bed,
I thank the Lord for you.
