Sometimes, I feel
Insignificant.
Like the world is a play
And I only sit in the audience;
Like fate has it all figured out,
So my efforts are to no avail.
Sometimes I feel
Like the world
Is deaf to my words,
Blind to my actions,
Numb to my emotions.
Like if God knows what will happen,
Why should I even try?
Sometimes it seems
Like things are set to go
Down a certain path
And even if I stand in their way,
They go right through me
Without a flicker in their pace.
People say
Some things
Are
Out of our hands,
Beyond our reach.
But I look at my arms
And see they're always too short;
My hands,
And see they're always too weak.
Sometimes, I feel
Insignificant.
