All I did was make a checklist of the different components that should be on the map, as well as an abbreviation telling me whether they should be labeled, colored, have boundaries, or all of the above, etc. Then, as I have her map next to the key, I go down the check list & place a "+" next to the correct items, and a "-" or "/" next to the incorrect/missing items. (Or just leave them blank. I wouldn't want to leave the correct ones unmarked, though, because if I was interrupted in correcting I wouldn't know where to start again! lol) I plan to print it out and keep it tucked in the cover of my Teacher's Text. That way, it serves as a good record until I enter it into the online schedule/tracker/report/record keeping website that I use, which I ADORE for it's flexibility and its (lack of a) price! Need a better way to keep things straight? Check out homeschoolskedtrack.com It doesn't take long to learn how to use/navigate the site and I love that it's easy to hange due dates/completion dates, assignment details or go back and enter things from days past that I missed putting in.
