Sometimes, I’m so afraid
That my stomach churns
And my muscles tense.
My eyes stay motionless
And I tremble terribly.
Sometimes, I’m so scared
That I feel tears that never come
And I am weighed down.
I’m completely vulnerable
And emptiness overcomes me.
Sometimes, I’m so terrified
That my mouth won’t open to pray
And I rock forward and backward.
My soul collapses
And I fall to a place where no one can reach me.
