Faces and voices,
Lives and souls,
The buzz around me
Sends me deeper
Into my own world.
My own place
Of peace
And quiet
Of thought
And hope.
My despair is hidden
As I blend into
This new place,
Becoming just another
Unfamiliar face
Among the masses.
To be myself
I must be safe,
Secure in my support.
To be safe
I must be alone.
Alone by myself
Or alone with my friends,
But not alone,
With the masses.
They fidget and quiver,
Whisper and yell,
Pushing me farther and farther
Into my own world.
Age 18
Lives and souls,
The buzz around me
Sends me deeper
Into my own world.
My own place
Of peace
And quiet
Of thought
And hope.
My despair is hidden
As I blend into
This new place,
Becoming just another
Unfamiliar face
Among the masses.
To be myself
I must be safe,
Secure in my support.
To be safe
I must be alone.
Alone by myself
Or alone with my friends,
But not alone,
With the masses.
They fidget and quiver,
Whisper and yell,
Pushing me farther and farther
Into my own world.
