Maybe if I sigh,
The pain will seep
Out of my muscles,
Float across the room,
And out the window.
Maybe when I exhale,
I can release my worries,
Calm my nerves
And silence my doubts.
Maybe if I relax
Every inch of my body,
And collapse gently
Onto a feather bed,
Maybe if I close my eyes
And create quiet daydreams
Maybe
When I open my eyes,
The world will be different.
Or maybe,
Just maybe,
I’ll look at the world differently.
