One person.
Just one person in this world
Seems so small,
So insignificant.
Aren't we all
Just part of a bigger picture?
The ways of our world
Make it seem so.
If "majority rules,"
And "not everyone's needs can be met,"
Then how can one person make such a huge impact?
One voice can be heard above the crowd;
One person could persuade others to follow on the road less traveled.
One person could make a difference.
When small children look to their parents and declare,
"I'm gonna grow up and change the world!"
Why do people laugh?
Why are they told not to get their hopes up?
If they grew up confident that they could change the world,
Wouldn't they be more likely to do so?
So many people say, "I can't,"
Instead of, "I will."
If all those little kids,
Grew up to be Abraham Lincoln's,
And Martin Luther's,
And every voice spoke out,
If every traveler of a less used road
Brought with them just one friend,
Imagine our world.
Imagine the growth and progress,
The peace and harmony.
It may take many people and many years
To change the world,
But it all starts with one person,
One voice,
One traveler,
One "I will."
