Alone in these woods,
Listening to the lapping of the waves
From the clear blue lake
To the sandy shoreline
Which is decorated
By small twigs, pebbles,
And snail shells,
Each having their own touch of character.
The foliage that surrounds me
Is a collage of nature’s best colors and shapes,
A display of its many textures,
And a portrait of its life.
As I hear the sounds
Of leaves sent a flutter with a breeze,
Fell the warmth of the morning sun,
And watch the water glisten
With such ease,
I am reminded
Of all that is God’s glory.
What my senses take in just now,
Just today,
Is enough to leave me astounded.
How many glories there must be
That I’ll never set mine eyes upon.
The squirrel
That ran by so near
Reminds me of our Father’s great attention and affection for detail.
Such tiny things
As the butterfly,
As the ant
With his family so great and many,
Were all planned intricately
By a Creator
Whose love and wisdom is endless.
A Savior who doesn’t rule,
But guides,
Who isn’t forced,
But accepted,
A Lord
Who has infinite desire
To be involved in His Kingdom.
He yearns to be close,
To be a personal part of the world and the lives,
He has made delicately.
All of this,
I’ve thought about today,
And it is only morning,
All of this I have learned and grown from,
All of this has given me peace from turmoil.
Only one question
Now lingers in my mind…
Oh Jesus,
What wonders
Lie in store for tomorrow?
