One often closes their eyes
To focus their mind,
To concentrate their efforts,
And not let in distraction.
Spending time being a skeptic,
Conditioning their wit
To be as sharp as eagles’ claws,
Just in case
A new argument may form,
To exercise that debating capacity,
To prove beyond reasonable doubt,
For science to be victorious!
To doubt the Lord
Is to sit alone in the world
Looking only at darkness
Confronting only your inner questions.
Open your eyes,
Not to distraction,
But to real life.
