Past your face,
Past that mask,
Into your eyes,
Into your heart.
I read you,
Read your emotions
And I look deeper.
I see,
I feel.
Pain, sorrow, confusion, anger, joy,
I see,
I see it all.
I see a part of you
So deep
That it becomes a part of me.
And we are connected
As I read your heart through your eyes.
I see,
I feel.
You’re uneasy,
Caught off guard.
You know something’s happening,
But you don’t know what.
Fight it,
Or trust it?
It’s your choice;
Either way, it’s happening.
I see,
I feel.
Your hurt,
Once hidden so deep,
Now surfaces on my face
In my heart.
Have comfort
Or fear?
Either way, it’s real.
I see,
I feel.
My soul
Provides words to my voice
And I say
What you need to hear.
Caught off guard,
Yet you can answer my questions.
Your eyes respond
And I learn my next move.
I see,
I feel.
I must take some action
And now I know what.
I present to you
My plan of healing
And extend an open hand,
And willing ear.
Your eyes soften
And defenses resign.
I see,
I feel.
I see your situation,
I feel your deepest cries,
Up to the Lord I lift them,
Through me they must pass.
My road is long
And hard to travel,
But I know Who awaits me
And from Him came this gift.
I see,
I feel.
