I look the world in its face
And with fear in this lonely heart
I gather the courage to walk in God’s Grace.
A painful past
And complicated road up ahead
These things that I write
Are ones that cannot be said.
For though ink on paper
Is black and white,
Words spoken aloud, even whispered,
Can change a life.
So here in my own little world
My thoughts run wild and free;
Perhaps some day you’ll read them
And into my soul you’ll see.
You’ll see that I love you
Deeper than I confess,
You’ll see that I have faith in us
Even when I seem to be a mess.
You’ll see the strength below my weakness
The hope in my desperation
And the beauty in my chaos.
